About ClubYUP

The maker with rolls of leather in cognac, burgundy and black

Hi, I'm Lauren! I started ClubYUP in April, out of a wish to slow down a little in a world that never stops.

For me it started very small. I noticed I was mindlessly on my phone more and more, scrolling endlessly. I wanted to make more room for my own thoughts and be less distracted by everything going on around me. That's how I discovered journaling.

Writing gives you something a screen can't. It's a moment when you're offline for a while, can sort your thoughts and make room for what's really on your mind. That feeling is where ClubYUP's leather journals came from: a place for your thoughts, ideas, memories and everything you want to keep along the way.

It started with one journal. I made it by hand, because I couldn't find a journal anywhere that felt personal enough and really suited me. A friend wanted one too. Then a friend of that friend. And before I knew it, more and more requests came in.

That's how one handmade journal grew into ClubYUP: a small club for anyone who wants to say ‘yup’ to themselves a little more often. A place to be offline a bit more now and then, to write, to create and to make room for yourself.

The leather

Vegetable-tanned, more beautiful with time

ClubYUP journals are made from leather that only gets more beautiful over the years. The leather comes from Italy and is vegetable-tanned, using natural tannins from tree bark, leaves and fruit instead of chrome. That makes it a more conscious choice within leather production.

But perhaps the best part is that the leather grows with you. With use, it develops a natural patina: the leather gradually darkens, softens and gains more and more character. Small scratches, colour variations and other marks of use make your journal ever more personal.

The result is a journal that doesn't have to stay perfectly new, but becomes more beautiful the longer you use it. Every journal changes with you and ends up carrying a piece of your story.

Lasting

One cover, a lifetime

The journal is designed to last. Is your notebook full? Just slide in a new insert, while the cover stays. That makes your journal something lasting: something that travels with you through the different stages of your life.
